MY STEM CELL JOURNAL
from ankle reconstruction & arthroscopy - A diversion of fusion or replacement
to a regenerative process
FLASHBACK TO THE 90'S
I was running on a scholarship and a dream of reaching All-American status in Cross-Country and track when a fateful horseback-riding accident crushed my left ankle leaving me red-shirted. Ankle reconstruction surgery was performed yet my dream remained crushed.
2011 TO 2019
Twenty years after the accident and following the St. Patty's Day 5k, I began to feel spurs developing in my joint. I opted for arthroscopy then visco-supplementation (aka, rooster-comb therapy,) followed by numerous cortisone injections and finally... acupuncture.
FOCUS ON 2020
I believe in the natural power of healing and I believe in God. I believe life is a gift, not to be taken for granted. I believe we have been given the gift of healing, naturally so I am opting for a more natural way of healing and believing in the power of God who is in me. I will continue to pray and report the progress Dr. Banerjee and I make on this journey through a regenerative process... Healing from within.
